Rattlesnakes have never really been high on my list of fav's, but this summer things are changing. I have begun running into them and really started to appreciate how stunning they can be. Also viewing some amazing photos on fieldherper.com has inspired me to get to know them better. A photo can't really portray how beautiful these little babies are. I guess the real problem I have is that I want to pick them up and get a real good look at them but I've been told they don't like that much and have a nasty way of telling you.
Anyway, I thought that after finding my Regal, the day was done and I was happy. Little did I know that I was about to get a pretty amazing sampling of some of the nicest looking snakes Az has to offer. It was pretty funny actually. Drove for 30 miles and found these guys one after another every 7-8 miles, like clockwork. And the night wasn't even over yet. (more finds/picts to come)
